A Two-Tone Kitchen Transformation in Glasgow
Sometimes a kitchen doesn’t need to be replaced — it simply needs to be brought up to date.
This recent Glasgow kitchen transformation is a great example.
The original kitchen featured a traditional medium wood finish throughout. The units and layout were still perfectly usable, but aesthetically the room was beginning to feel dated.
By resurfacing the existing kitchen with a modern two-tone combination, the space has been given a completely different character.
The finished kitchen combines light upper cabinets with darker lower units, creating a much cleaner and more contemporary look while retaining the existing kitchen layout.
And the transformation was completed in just two days.
From traditional to contemporary
One of the biggest advantages of kitchen wrapping is that you don’t necessarily need to change the layout, units or appliances to make a dramatic difference.
In this Glasgow project, changing the colour and finish of the cabinet fronts was enough to completely alter the appearance of the room.
The lighter upper cabinets help keep the kitchen feeling bright, while the darker base units create contrast and give the space a more modern, premium feel.
It’s a great example of how a carefully chosen finish can make an existing kitchen feel current again.
What is kitchen wrapping?
Kitchen wrapping involves professionally resurfacing suitable existing doors, drawer fronts, panels and other surfaces using specialist architectural films.
These are very different from basic DIY vinyl products.
Transform Interiors works with professional architectural finishes designed for use in demanding environments. Similar finishes are used in commercial interiors including hospitals, cinemas, offices and hospitality spaces.
There are thousands of different finishes available, including solid colours, wood effects, textured surfaces and contemporary designs.
Do you need a new kitchen?
If your existing cabinets are still structurally sound and you’re happy with the layout, a complete kitchen replacement may not be necessary.
Professional kitchen resurfacing can provide:
a completely new appearance
considerably less disruption
much faster completion
less waste
a wide choice of design options
potentially significant savings
For this Glasgow project, the entire visual transformation was completed in just two days.
